GREVE IN CHIANTI
📷
Stroll along the Tuscan town of Greve in Chianti with its red geraniums, stone houses and streets, rod iron balcony's and a red bike to match. It is named for the small, fast-flowing river that runs through it, Val di Greve, and is the principal town in the Chianti wine district which stretches south of Florence. There are also many castles in the surroundings of Greve; they are now elegant residences or famous estates such as Verrazzano (the famous navigator Giovanni da Verrazzano) and Vicchiomaggio (where Leonardo's famous Mona Lisa was born).
